Sinus infection?

was feeling out of it and went to see a doc. she told me i have a major sinus infection. My head feels like its pounding. i just started meds for it, but is there any other way i can help to make the pain go away. thanks!Sinus infection?
Take a pain reliever and a decongestant. Breathing in the steam from a hot shower will help loosen things up, and saline nasal drops might help also.
You can take tylenol 1000mg and motrin 800mg. Do not exceed 4000mg/24hrs of tylenol and motrin should be taken as needed every 6-8hrs.
This will not be a magical cure, but it's something to try out. Go to your local Walgreens and buy a "neti pot" ($10 or so). This is a device which looks like a genie's bottle. You fill the pot with lukewarm slightly salty water, then place the "tip" of the pot into one nostril. You tip your head (over a sink) in such a way that the water flows up the nostril (with the tip in it), through your sinuses, and out the opposite nostril. Then blow your nose really well, and repeat on the other side. It sounds REALLY gross, but it REALLY works. I suffer with sinus blockages and headaches probably once a week, and though the neti pot hasn't stopped it altogether it has helped a GREAT deal. It feels good too, nice to be cleaned out.
