The doctor has prescribed METRONIDAZOLE, i am having all 4 wisdom teeth out next week under G.A?

will these tablets be ok to take next week also??The doctor has prescribed METRONIDAZOLE, i am having all 4 wisdom teeth out next week under G.A?
DEFINITELY ask your doctor. If you're taking the tablets, I assume that's Flagyl and your oral surgeon definitely needs to know you are on that medication. Call their office right away and ask about it.
They are used to treat infection. call your dentist just to make sure
metronidazole ( flagyl)is a medication that is often the med of choice for infections in the mouth/tooth.so I'd imagine your doctor may have given you this in preparation for your op?
metronidazole is an antibiotic routinely given prior and following dental surgery and is to ensure you dont have any infection lurking in the gums surrounding the teeth that didnt erupt.
should be fine to take following week if they are prescribed for then and you follow the lable instructions properly.
best wishes with your op :-)
I had an emergency situation and was given metronidazole intravenously and had some teeth out under a G.A. at the same time. It caused me no problems whatsoever, but saying that people are different. Let your anaesthetist and the person doing the proceure know that you are taking them so they are aware.
I'm sure you'll be fine, good luck anyway.
It should not be a problem, but do tell your dentist about any medication you are taking.
