Short sighted, harmful to always wear my glasses?

Well, I only need the glasses(Just got them 4 days ago) for reading black/white boards and watching tv if its too far away. But I prefer having them on, I can see far away stuff clearer etc.
So in short...Will wearing my glasses make my eyesight worse, or worse faster?Short sighted, harmful to always wear my glasses?
It won't hurt your eyesight. If your doctor DIDN'T say anything like "Wear them only for reading and class," then go ahead and wear them all the time if that's how you see best.
EDIT: Take your optician's advice about when to wear the specific glasses from your question, but let him/her know that you're still having trouble seeing things at a distance. Then get a referral to an **optometrist** (not the same thing as an optician) to get a prescription for glasses to wear all the time. Good luck!
